don't worry sweetie everything will be okay
if the instructions are confusing use a pad while on your period. find someone you feel comfortable with and ask them, but if noone is around heres what u would do
1.take off the paper(palstic)
2.remove the applicator
3. find a comfortable position (4 me i have to put one foot on the toilet or bathtub)
4.insert it into your vagina make sure the string is facing away from you
5.push it all the the way in with only the string left out
6.if its in right you shouldn't be able to feel it at all
7.if you can feel it move ot around a little bit or take it out and start with a fresh one.
8.MAKE SURE TO CHANGE THEM VERY 4-8 HOURS TO HELP PREVENT TSS.

There should be a brochure in the package with pictures and everything.
Basically, you insert the tampon into your vagina and when it is in to the bottom of the larger piece, you push the plunger to make the tampon come out of the applicator. Then remove the applicator.
Sometimes, positioning yourself makes a big difference. For instance, when I started using them, I found putting one foot on the toilet helped.
Make certain to use the lightest absorbency you can for your flow and to change it as often as directed.

I was scared when I tried it and it was a little uncomfortable until I got used to using them, but I quickly decided that I preferred them to pads.

1st of all..REALAX! u need to relax, otherwise your gona have a hard time. what size are you using, and also is it a cardboard or plasitc aplicator? plastic is best. for 1st time, its best to use the teen ones...they are slimmer than the regulars. do the directions in the box have the pictures? stand infront of your toilet with one foot on the seat. hold the tampon with only 1 hand, with your index finger on the part where the sting hangs out and your thimb and middle finger on the part jsut below the thickest part. insert it kind of pointing at your lower back. then push the small tube, where the string hangs out, all the way till it touches the thicker part. thats all there is to it.
wasnt scared at all. is sooo much better than pads...you dont reek of the smell of blood and dont feel like you've wet your self.

ok it's definatly not pathetic. i have 3 sisters (2 older) and was still scared to death. but i realized tampons arent meant for everyone. i was told by a docter not to use tampons cuz it was damaging my insides. If it hurts more than a little discomfort, STOP using them. Good luck to ya doll.

I wasn't scared at all it's way more comfortable than wearing a pad (i call it a diper) in the box of any brand of tampons they give u instructions and how to put it in the proper way and when to change it.
