Some vitamin D is produced when ultraviolet rays hit the skin. But when sunscreen is applied ultraviolent rays won't reach the skin. Does that prevent vitamin D production from outer sources excluding the liver?

You are right but you still receive the required Vitamin D once you are exposed to the sun. The whole purpose of sunscreen is to prevent the skin diseases caused by too much of exposure to the sun and not mild exposures like what we normally do while walking a short errand etc.Actually,15 - 20 minutes exposure in the morning sun between 8 am - 10 am is very effective and healthy enough to get Vitamin D. However, if you walk in the sun around midday then you obviously have to wear sunscreen coz the UV rays during this time is lot higher and can be very harmful if exposed too long. So,need not worry.

It would slow down the production of Vitamin D, but it wouldn't stop the production completely as UV rays still get through. Remember that your daily "dose" of vitamin D is 10 minutes in clothes in the sun, even in the winter. With sunscreen, you'd be looking at a bit longer, but not by too much. :) Hope that helps.

Not really, sun light is not totally blocked, some UV rays still pass through the sunscreens to the skin.

I would say that you create as much vit D as you need without full sunlight.

Presumably, you are going to use sunscreen to go sunbathing. Since that is not a natural thing for any animal to do, let alone a hairless one like a human, you are most likely getting much more sun that nature ever intended.

Most people who are native to tropical countries avoid the sun. It is only silly white people (and I am one of them, not to sound racist), who lay in the sun for narcisistic reasons.
