If there is no god, then there still is an afterlife. I think this because people do communicate and do see people that have lived before. There has to be something afterward, heaven, somewhere, reincarnation, or just a wandering spirit.
I've thought about both of your options, I don't believe the sleep thing anymore, but what's weird is I've actually wondered about your second option and thought I was crazy for thinking that.
Yes, I do have a lot of point of views lol. I just think anything can happen after death

I think that your soul goes to a different place, heaven maybe, to me it would be like seeing the people you know that have already passed on, and you live a different type of life there, and i think that if you are evil here then you remain in a world of terrible things, and some people's souls just get stuck, and that's where ghosts come from.

Decomposition (or spoilage) is a phenomenon common in the sciences of biology and chemistry. In biology, decomposition refers to the reduction of the body of a formerly living organism into simpler forms of matter. In chemistry it refers to the breaking down of a large molecule into smaller molecules or atoms and is referred to as chemical decomposition.
The body of a living organism begins to decompose shortly after death. Such decomposition can be simplified in two stages: In the first stage, it is limited to the production of vapors. In the second stage, fluidic materials form and the flesh or plant matter begins to decompose. The science which studies such decomposition generally is called taphonomy.
Historically, the progression of decomposition of a living organism has been described as taking place in four stages: fresh (autolysis), bloat (putrefaction), decay (putrefaction and carnivores) and dry (diagenesis).

they bury you 6 feet under ground. Then you go to heaven or hell.
It depends on if you lived a good life or a bad life. Nobody knows that but the man up stairs

Our spirit leaves our physical body behind, and we receive our reward, based on the karma we accumulated in our lifetime.
