Unfortunately, too often in our society, older women are not valued intellectually or sexually. Sometimes they get outright discriminated against at work, or they have husbands looking at some young thing. Insecurity that's fueled by our culture, that's the short answer.

-some women are do not want to get old so it is their security to lie about their age. I know an old lady ,she has passed away years ago and this is what she told me . Women that tell their age will tell anything, I sure had a chuckle about that. Simple truth, women do not want to get old. Why do you think, there is a multi -billions industry on beauty care and such???

I think only women who look their age or older lie about it, the thing is eventually time will catch up with them and they will probably have to add the extra 5yrs they've been lying about. That's when it'll get embarrassing. Ha Ha

I don't know why women lie about their age I certainly don't, I feel proud and much wiser each year I get older and would never lie about it.

I have never lied about my age. I am 51 and proud of every line and sag I have. Okay, maybe not proud, but I don't mind.
