I don't think it's the fact that your hair is wet, but that your body will loose heat due to the wetness and have to work harder to stay warm and in some cases this can disproportinately use your body's resources. This could result in a head cold in winter or in summer if you sleep in air conditioning. The same reason you wouldn't wet your hair and then hang around outside in the winter time--it may not give you a cold today but if you keep it up, sooner or later.....

yes it can make you sick, I had this problem just last night. I went to bed with very wet hair and I woke up very early to be chundering down the toilet. Sleeping with wet hair gives you a head cold and I have had this experience SEVERAL times. make sure youre hair is at least towel dried before going to bed.

No. It doesn't matter what the temperature is, or if it is summer or winter. Colds are caused by germs, not temperature. Same thing goes for going outside with wet hair. I used to do it all the time and never got sick.

Germs cause sickness, not being wet. This goes right along with the myth/wives tale that cutting your hair makes it grow faster. Hair grows from the roots and not the ends.

No! In fact if you have a very bad head cold and you go to bed with wet hair and the bedroom window open a bit - you will wake up well rested with a clear head. My mom did this to us as kids and it works! I tell other parents to try it and they look at me like I just told them to throw their kids of a bridge.

Well how technical do you want to get? In general no you proably won't. Now in the right conditions YES you can. As to the thought of if it drops below freezing I live in an area where this could happen. You know you go to bed thinking it is warm and wake up and it is freezing cold.

i have had this happen many times formerly so I make constructive now to not have moist hair even as i bypass to sleep. I merely take a towel and wrap my hair in it to take up the water/moisture speedier or if I had to have moist hair (damp a minimum of ) after I laid down if it grow to be later , and so on. I 'd be constructive you position a towel over the pillow and pull my hair to position in back of my head. So i visit maintain away from having that lay on my neck. It prevented the sore throat then by some skill.in case your hair is shorter i'd be constructive you towel dry it properly formerly going to sleep and placed the towel over the pillowcase then.

I was told that all the time when I was growing up, then one day I did it and another day I did it and found out it wasn't true...the only thing that will happen is that your hair will be all screwed up in the morning...found that one out...now thats something we should be told!
