I'm flying into Midway and attending a Cubs game. Where do you suggest I stay? Somewhere affordable but close to the nightlife.

You mean WRIGLEY FIELD, right?
There are plenty of Andersonville and Wrigleyville (names of the neighborhoods) hotels.
The real nightlife is actually ALL OVER the city!
Each neighborhood has it's own ethnic and cultural flair. Just stay out of the far west end and anywhere near Cabrini Green and you're Golden!

Since Andersonville is on the North Side, near Boystown and Uptown, there's TONS of nightlife and clubs!
It's probably the MOST HAPPENING area.
You'll love it!

The Neighborhood Inns of Chicago have several small and affordable (for Chicago) properties in Lakeview. The Majestic is closest to Wrigley -- just a couple of blocks away, in fact.

There's also
Best Western http://www.hawthorneterrace.com very close
Days Inn Lincoln Park http://www.lpndaysinn.com/location.html
Comfort Inn Lincoln Park (601 W. Diversey Pkwy)

All the hotels are pretty tiny, so rooms tend to fill up fast, but they're all very conveniently located to Wrigley Field and nightlife.

The downtown hotels sometimes have really good special rates that would be cheaper than the neighborhood hotels, though. If you stay downtown, taking the Red Line to Wrigley Field is safe and easy.

You can stay at any of the downtown hotels and take the El to Wrigley field. You can take the El from Midway to downtown and to most of the areas where there is significant nightlife.

Affordable is relative. Try one of the hotels on the strip near the air port. Ude price line to get a good rate. Night life is everywhere. You could stay down town-less affordable, but plenty of things to do.

You'll only want to stay close to Wrigly if you like gay nightlife.
