Has anyone had the Depo shot. It is a birth control shot. Did it make you gain weight?

Weight gain is the leading side effect of DPMA. If you are concerned about weight gain, maybe consider another form of contraception.

i have been on the shot for 3 years and have not gained an abnormal amount of weight (it varies each month but not by more then 10 lbs) i love the shot... you only have to get it every 3 months and i havent had a period since my second shot!!! maybe those of you who gained weight should watch what you eat and exercise!!! that would prevent weight gain.

i gained a lot of weight and the dr never tould me it would do that as soon as i found out i was gaining weight i went off of it.i use yasmine which some dr's say can help you loose up to 1pd a month.i havnt gained any weight on it and i have been on it for about 3 years

This should be taken off the market !!!! It's awful. Please listen to us and don't use it !!! You'll be sorry. I was on it myself and I would rather cut off my right arm than go through that again. The migraines and severe acne were enough to make me suicidal. Most doctors with any experience have stopped prescribing it altogether! The convenience is NOT WORTH IT!!!! Ortho-Tricyclen is the only way to go! Light periods, clear skin ... gotta love it.

Well i kno people that have had it. Its realitively painless they say and is not that big of a deal. And no they didnt gain wait.

DO NOT GET IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT MAKES YOU GAIN WEIGHT AND IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU NOT OT BLEED
