Yes, Derek Jeter is the captain and face of the Yankees, but ehir best, most valuable player has been and still is Mariano Rivera. Just think, he has saved over 400 games for the yankees. He is one of the top 5 greatest pitchers in MLB history, and if the yankees need 3 outs he is almost automatic. Go Yanks!

The best of all time, Babe Ruth - the numbers speak for themself.
The best currently, Derek Jeter - he is what Yankees baseball is all about: class, pride, hard work ethic, a true role model for today's youth.
I just wish more kids would want to be like Derek Jeter than these "sports celebrities" who have a reputation for being law-breakers, or who actually ARE law-breakers (Iverson, for example).
Whatever happened to kids wanting to be like Joe DiMaggio, or Mickey Mantle or Don Mattingly or Thurman Munson (my personal role model when I was a kid)?
Man, I miss the "good old days" sometimes.

There is no comparison!! Derek Jeter by a mile!! In addition to his great fielding and hitting, Jeter is the embodiment of all that we like about and hope our athletes are. He is hard-working, dedicated, wants to WIN, is enthusiastic, never complains, and never shoots his mouth off in the media. All adds up to his being the best of all the Yankees. This from a Red Sox fan!!

A-Rod is the most talented player in baseball today. He will be one of the best in 10 years and he will shatter hank's hr record. Just dumass Yankees fans booing him and made him push so hard. Yankees fans don't appreciate the talent they have instead they boo them.
