Arent they for freedom, womens rights, children's rights, the right to a fair trial etc so on? Why are they so against the war on a country who's former president would tourter and kill anyone and everyone who disagreed with him, who would rape and hang women by the goal post's in soccer stadiums for being ACCUSED of adultry, who force kids to join the military, who would even beat the hell out of olympic athletes for not winning .I could go on, but how could they not support a war on a country like this if they are this loving, caring bunch they say they are?

Even if it was for the wrong reasons, and Bush lied and blah blah blah ,..(which i dont believe) , shouldnt they still be happy that these people may have a chance of freedom now?

If Al Gore had been in office and made all the same moves as GW, then Democrats would be all for it. It's only because they hate-passionately-GW Bush.

I think it works very well.

I'm glad Saddam was removed from power, but there's got to be more than one way to do that. Iraq is on the brink of a civil war, and the U.S./U.K. presence there coupled with constant fighting there is a major argument for terrorist recruitment. Whether we're better off today is debatable.

The U.N. had inspectors in place, and the Security Council was losing patience. Bush+Blair rushed things, when they could have waited for a U.N. coalition. If you don't appreciate what that means, think Islamic Troops (from Pakistan, for instance) keeping the peace.

Bush & co. seriously overestimated how popular Americans were in Iraq.

Some people oppose the war no matter what, they're not in touch with reality. But this was a clumsy war. The cure rivals the disease.

I do agree that Saddam was a horrible dictator and that he did unspeakable things to his people. But what about North Korea, or parts of Africa where there are atrocities occurring as well? Why did we choose Iraq over these places? Contrary to you, I believe what Valerie Plame's husband said, Iraq was not on the road to weapons of mass destruction. I was thinking the whole mess was going to work out a few months ago, but now all I see is a civil war with us in the middle of it. Here is my question to you, how can I be labelled as un-American if I have not supported this war from the start? I thank god for every person living or dead who has put on the uniform of our country and fought for it, I don't want to see anymore of them killed where I don't think they should be. Finally, I think it is completely atrocious how we treat our veterans after they return home. When I was growing up, my Depression/WWII-era parents taught us that you always do what you can for veterans. Whenever I see a homeless vet, my heart sinks, that is a crime.

First of all, who isn't for freedom, women's rights, childrens rights and so on? Anyone who isnt is an ethically and morally ridiculous person. But to answer your question, the liberal mind works like this. Saddam was a horrible person, and dictatorship is a terrible thing. But to put thousands and thousands of civilian lives in jeapordy as the american government did, was a little too inhumane for the liberals. To take americans and send them to their death is a horrible thing. All of the choices bush made were dumb. And yes he did lie, he knew there was nothing. America broke the U.N rules. . . more than once. Shame on you for supporting bush you idiot.

Everybody is glad Saadam is gone, Let me say it again because you consevatives must have Rush's Pills stuck in your ears becasue you never here it. Everybody is glad Saadam is gone. Unfortunatly bin laden isn't and that's who we were supposed to get. G's right there are much worse people out there than sadaam but we do nothing about them. Also I would be fully in favor of taking out the all the evil regimes in the world except for one thing they shoot back. You don't mention the fact that over 2000 of our solidiers have now died there what about there right to keep living to have a full life evidently you don't respect that. Liberals do thats why all possible actions should be taken to find a better way of getting rid of tyrants than rushing into a war.

Liberals tend to think more with their hearts so, of course, they are for women's and children's rights, etc.

Saddam was captured almost 3 years ago (Dec. 13, 2003). Why are the people of Iraq still dying by our hands?

We don't have a right to force democracy/capitalism on a people who don't desire it.

Yes. They are for human rights.

And most supported the initial invasion of Iraq to depose Saddam.

What they oppose is the continued presence, where the US forces are acting as the Iraqi national police, and where the US is one of three sides in a civil war.

So, it's not a matter of whether it should have been done in the first place. It's a matter of what do do after "Mission Accomplished".

have a few drinks, smoke some weed , take some other drugs, pass out, wake up somewhere you don't recognize .....and what you feel is the confusion present in the minds of all liberals when they are sober.

Well, you ask about our concearns on a countries **former** president... My concearns are more so in Isreal/Palestine areas. The Isrealis treat them like pigs, slaughter them for no reason, kick them out of their homes. Don't sterotype Liberals. You may have mutliple classifications of opinions, but each person inside the liberal classification also has their own opinions on things. If you think democrats and republicans are the only one's who argue your sadly mistaken, many democrats argue w/ in the democratic party, and many republicans argue w/ in the republican party. There is no one set rule that guides everyones thinking, although Bush would like it that way.
