What is the meaning of being "down to earth"?

I find that that is an ambiguous phrase, and I cannot seem to find the real meaning of it.

Basically means that the person is very grounded and speaks the truth in all situations. The person will tell things like it is, and is not ashamed.

Not living in a fantasy. Being connected to reality.

Down to earth means that you're very practical. You don't exaggerate a lot or fantasize.
