Big Sigh,

You'll be sorry.....

It's a Floor, and subject to all the wear you submit it to. Beyond that it's Vinyl, and even epoxy paints will scuff, scratch, be subject to abrasion.

It also will not be cheaper in the long run, will look tacky, and again,,,You'll be sorry.

The alternatives are truly not difficult, and soooooo many colors and patterns are available in all types of flooring. I just 5 minutes ago found a company in Ohio, that sells floor finishes for commercial use that are stated to wear forever. I will likely try a sample.

You can paint anything, the question is will it adhere over time. If you use a bonding primer first it may last a litle longer. I would talk to a paint store like Sherwin Williams, the may have some products or ideas. My recommendation if it is for a short term and you are eventually going to replace OK, but for a long fix I wouldn't do it.

Definitely don't even try,it will be a total waste of time and money, even the top layer wears off vinyl let alone paint which would be applied over it-don't do it !!

yes, you could paint it. but for the life if me i dont know why you would want to. to replace it would not be that expensive! better of to remove the old. put down the new, cut to fit with a utility knife, roll back 1 half of it apply vinyl adhesive to the floor with a notched trowel, roll that side back into place and repeat the same for the otherside.finish off by installing qtr. round at walls and termination strips at carpet.

go and buy self stick vinyl tile at your local floor store, the paint wont stick to the urethane top coat on vinyl and the self stick tile start somewhere around $.50 a sq ft.

Vinyl paint is available but is meant for the sponsons of inflatables and R.I.B.s and usually only in grey, black, orange and white. Try your local yacht chandlers-though it is not really meant to be walked on!

you may want to purchase new swap-plate covers very less costly, you may want to be able to easily scrape the paint of the swap itself really truthfully, keep away from making use of a flammable or any liquid on the switches. use #3 metal wool soaked in acetone to eliminate paint from floor if warmth soapy water doesn't artwork.

I would imagine you could.. Probably best to talk to someone at Home Depot or Lowes about specifics. You might need to sand it first, so that the paint can adhere to it.
