To the first question, there are 50 states, although four of them official use the term Commonwealth, but are considered states for federal purposes.
As to the second, the war was fought between Americans who supported the United States of America and Americans who supported the secessionist Confederate States of America.
As to the third, they represent the thirteen original states. Originally, the plan was to introduce a new stripe when a new state was admitted to the Union, and for a while, the country had a flag with fifteen stripes on it. However, they realised that it would get ridiculous when many states had entered, so it reverted to thirteen. There is no particular order associated with them.
As to the fourth, the War of 1812 began when the United States declared war on the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1812. The war lasted until near the end of 1814 with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent, although the final battle occurred a couple of weeks later in New Orleans in 1815.

50 States
The “American Civil War”, which was fought between 1861 and1865 was between the Federal government and 11 southern slave states.
The 13 stripes represent each of the 13 original colonies, which established the United States of America.
The War of 1812 was fought between the United States and the British Empire from 1812 to 1815.

We have 50 States.
The Northern States fought the Southern States. Both sides were U.S. Citizens against each other.
The 13 Stripes on the Flag do stand for the Original 13 States but the Color Red is for the Blood we lost to gain our Freedom and the Color White is for the Body's that did contain the Blood and did lose it for Freedom and the War of 1812 was fought between 1812 and 1814! Hope this gets you were you want to go! Also, this has to do with the History of the United States of America!!! Not America!!!!! My friend, I do understand this has to Do with the U.S.! It is just that everybody who lives in North, Central and South America are Americans but here at Home, we U.S. Citizens have not a name to be called that has to do with the name of our Country. So I am not getting at you about how the Country was named or what we are called. It is just something that gets to me the older I get.
