Because Bush knows deep down in his heart and soul, that he alone knows the truth! He can look in men's eyes and see their soul. God has chosen him to lead the world through these troubled times. All those other religions are wrong, they are all part of the enemy. They are not entitled to any of this religious treasure.

See? You actually got some people answering this question as if what you said were true.
This is EXACTLY how bad information circulates. I'll bet someone told you this and you believed it without either checking it out for yourself, or asking the person telling you where he got his information.
This is just like the rumor that went around, for about a year after 9/11 that no Jews died in the twin towers, because they were told what was going to happen. This completely ridiculous statement was circulated as evidence that the Jews planned the whole event.
The story spread like a virulent disease, via email, chat groups and even on talk radio.
Now, I'll bet that someone reads this and tells people he read in Yahoo Answers that no Jews died in the 9/11 attack.
Some of you, no doubt, have been reading the stories about how Bush and his cronies planned, funded and carried out the whole scheme?
Why not go ahead and start the rumor that no top level Republicans died in the towers, because they were warned to stay away?

Supposing as a premise that what you claim is true (which I highly doubt)...
Any religious organization can apply for the programs, but perhaps Christian organizations have decided to become more involved in it. Some groups might believe they do not want government funding, for the sake of the principle that other people's tax money shouldn't go to their religious effort.
Also, in trying to gauge this, one must recognize that there may be one hundred times the number of Christian organizations as Jewish and Muslim organizations.
At any rate, this would not amount to discrimination, unless you can provide evidence that other religions are being excluded.
And even if the U.S. were discriminating illegally, for the sake of argument, this would be wrong, but hardly still in league with what happens in some Muslim countries to Christians and Jews. There are a million practicing muslims in Israel, for example, that can practice their religion freely. How many Jews can do so in, say, Gaza? ...or Saudi Arabia?

We are free to believe in any religion we want, and that means that we are free to give to organizations that are only part of that religion. That's not discrimination, that's preference. For example, blacks tend to marry blacks and whites tend to marry whites as a preference. That doesn't mean that either race is discriminating against the other. They simply prefer to stay with their own.

Let me get this strait. You are saying George bush is saying what religion you can practice? what does money have to do with prayer or beliefs? Last I checked the Vatican was hording hundreds of billions. You think Jewish people are poor?
"The kingdom of heaven is within you" --somewhere in the bible.
Jesus came to earth to show man that he does not need ostentatious temples or large idols to pray to God. Can't buy heaven

Because only Christians can be charitable?
Because the faith based initiatives were a cynical grab by
neocons to make our country's government Christian?
Hmm ... maybe there IS something to this separation of
church and state thang.

The Bush administration's violation of the separation of church and state is the least of my worries, darling. I'm worried more about my right to privacy.

just cause one has a right to believe what they want doesn't mean the government has to support it. IN THIS TIME OF WAR AGAINST OSAMA BIN LADEN AND THE OPPRESSIVE TALIBAN REGIME BE THANKFUL OUR LEADER IS NOT THE SPOILED SON OF A POWERFUL POLITCIAN FROM A WEALTHY OIL FAMILY WHO IS SUPPORTED BY RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISTS, OPERATES THROUGH CLANDESTINE ORGANIZATIONS, HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE DEMOCRATIC ELECTORAL PROCESS, BOMBS INNOCENTS, AND USES WAR TO DENY PEOPLE THEIR CIVIL LIBERTIES. You wouldn't want to live in a place like that, would you?
