I'm 19 yrs old girl from a hispanic family. I'm moving from my house but i dont know how to tell my mom. She is going to be very hurt and dissapointed for wanting to move out. I'm afraid that i might get weak to see her cry and stay home.

Tell her after you've found a place and are all set to go. She will hopefully see how responsible you are being. Once you are gone, invite her over frequently, but don't give her a key unless you have no one else to give a backup to. I'm pretty sure she will soon get used to the idea of her little girl growing up.

I'm Hispanic too, and I've been i your situation is a cultural thing, hispanics mothers and daughters tend to fight onte to take control and the other not to be controlled!!!! I moved out on my owm it was pretty dramatic at first, but you know what?!?! It turned out that because we don't spend that much time together now we apreciate more the time we do, and we are more like friends! The relationship has improved more and it's not only my experience but all the hispanic girls I know!!!! ;o) So be brave, and keep uo with your plans it will be for the best at last!

Explain to your mother that you want your independence and that you want to try and gain some freedom that you want and you want to see what it is really like in the real
world and you talk to her and tell her that you love her and you will not be that far away from her and if you haven't, introduce her to your friend and even invite your mother to visit you sometime. Be careful though, when i was 21, I got married adn left home, for similiar issues with a mother. Only to tell you that the one that I married and lived with for 11 years, we got divorced and it was a hard 11 years to live with him.
Think about what is the best for all of you involved. Be Careful and Loving and follow your heart. If you do decide to take that step and move, always reassure your mother that you love her and you will stay close to her forever.

Try to find a way to rationalize it. If you are moving a mile away, it's pointless and a waste of money and mom will say so. So then tell her it is your turn to grow up and start your life. If you have a better reason, say, a boyfriend, then say that you want to start your life together. Saying "I just want to!" doesnt work. Show her you aremature enough to handle it, and that it wont mean the end of your relationship. GOOD LUCK!

Just be honest, tell her that you Love her and that will never change. Inform her of your plans for a bright future. And if she has a panic attack, comfort her and let her know your never really that far away. Also don't forget, grow-up while your out. Don't come running back to mommy for comfort, when things don't work out between friends. Really think about your moves before you do them. Checkmate!

Iam a mom and once had to move out also so I know how you feel and know how your mom will feel....I also have a daughter that is 18 going on 19 and moved out for a year now...it is always hard to let a loved one go so worried about the choices they are going to make because as a grown up we know what the real world is like out there and we are just never ready to let our kids go but I know at 19 you are ready for the big adventure and the thrill of being on your own..best of luck out there wish you the best but break it to your mom gently and expect resistance and for her not to be ready for it but know that her feelings are because she loves you and only wants the best....moms tend to wnat the best for their children and tend to think there is nothing out there good enough for their child only because we want to keep them at home safe but we know that is not happening but we can dream.... hope this helped somehow

I've tried to tell my mother (a hispanic woman as well) the same thing too, so I can relate. Well, as long as you're not moving to another state or country I think things will be okay. Just reassure her that you'll come and visit her (I hope). Stay strong to your beliefs and but also respect your mother's!

That's exactly why you need to go through with it!? It's never easy dealing with a situation like this but you're the one who needs to get used to living your own life, whether Mom likes it or not. Move when she's not there to see and leave her a good-bye note. It's up to you to deal with this in a mature fashion yet respectful. Just in case she never changes! Good luck!

just dont come home. when she calls your cell just tell her you moved and say you have to call her back. your mom is using u as a crutch not just trying to control your life. she will be fine on her own. If not your only 20 mins away. Good luck

I would move out when MOM is away or at work.....Once you're settled into your new place...call your MOM and tell her what you've done. You're 19...there is nothing she can do to you but play the guilt card.....Invite her over to visit you. Treat her to a coffee/dessert or even dinner in your new place. Assure her that you're an adult and that you need to be on your own.
It doesn't matter what culture you're from...MOM's are mom's...and worry...
