i've seen guys spin the girl at the end or several times during the dance. Some ppl perfer to 2 step sideways which consists of moving twice in one direction, one step back and of course the classic guy leading the girl 2 steps to the right, one to the left or vice versa and important thing is to actually move with the music...its a dance so you have to feel the song and move with the steps. I'm not sure what you mean by "spin them". There are too many dance steps I can think of that can be described as guy is spinning the lady.
Whatever you do, don't spin them out of balance, when they are not prepared for it.
