should i be allowed to get my tongue pierced now while im 16 r should i have to wait till im 16 r 18??i will be getting a small gage like a 14,16,r 18.20 is as small as it gets.so do yall think i should be allowed too??and please put yes r no and ur reason thank you much-love-kayla

if i got older i would prolly take it out when i got like 25 26 bc it would look unprofessional in the career i hope to have someday.but i want it for now while im a teenage and a young adult so i can have the experience and i really want one cause i think their cute.im not doin i tfor a fad.i only know 2 people with their tongue pierced that are my age.And i would take care of it and go thru the swelling and piercing.so of corse i would take care of it.well ne way thatnks 4 every1's answers n those yet to answer mush love-kayla

I wont do them on anyone under 17. The hole is not permanent, but there is a lot of discomfort and swelling during the healing process. DO NOT let anyone do your piercing with a gauge smaller than a 14 and make sure they a reputable shop.

Personally I would not allow my daughter to have any body modification until they were 18. A tongue piercing is such a bad idea and one day you are going to look back at wonder what the hell you were thinking.

Oooh, I'm sorry; this is a disgusting practice IMHO. Imagine all the yukky stuff that settles in around a tongue stud. If 'unsanitary' doesn't bother you, m'dear, think about the resulting bad breath.

yea go head as long as ur parents dont mind but if they dont want u 2 get one then try 2 get as small as it is as u stated an be extra careful && if u dont want it no more u can just take it out and it will close up truste me

Neither. It's literaly piercing a muscle..a very useful one. When you get older, it will become a bigger hole.
