The song was the on the final episode of Carnivale's first season and was at the very end of the episode.

The only song I can seem to find playing on the WTC trailer besides Coldplay is a song called "The Life of David Gale" by Alex Parker. I'm not sure if it's the song you mean though... You can listen to a short clip of it here -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000088E3X/103-3622960-0697415?v=glance&n=5174- It's number 7 on the soundtrack.
I don't think this song was used in Carnivale though, which makes me think it's not the song you're looking for. On the HBO website, they list every song used in Carnivale, maybe if you see it, it'll ring a bell. Otherwise, you'll have to listen to each song separately and find the one you like.

you're not talking about cold play's "fix you" are you? that's the only song i've seen on a wtc trailer.
