Huntington, a prominent scholar, has framed his realist perception into a prophecy like thesis called " Clash of Civilizations". In his theory, he believes that the clash between nations and states is based on religious and idological reasons rather than political or economic. How far is that true?

Huntington's thesis can be proven correct if the populace of the various states is fed a lot of racist propaganda, and misinformation about other religions and cultures. Then we can have the clash or war. It's happening right now in the US.

I can understand how a country can gain something politically or economically such as control of territory or resources. But what does it stand to gain from an ideological or religious war? That's why I think propaganda and playing to fears is needed, because there's no real winner in an ideological war.
