The company I work for sends me there to do housework (I'm a home support worker). There are LOTS of big brownish spiders with super long skinny legs. Usually they are just in the laundry room area in the basement or in the stairwell but today I counted 3 on the ceiling in the upstairs bathroom. Every time I see one I feel so light-headed. I'm having nightmares about these kind too. Do you think my boss would understand if I wanted to quit that place?

I did the same sort of work many years ago. I know that the lady I worked with was very understanding if you were uncomfortable in a situation. I would definitely say something. You obviously have a valid fear that affects your health.

I'm sure it's worth a try.
The spiders you're describing sound like American Wolf Spiders. They do bite humans but aren't lethal, but the bite is definitely a health hazard. The poison in a wolf spiders bite can cause horribly disfiguring soars to individuals who are sensitive to it.

I would tell your boss and ask if recomending an exterminator would be in order.
No one should have to work in such conditions.

I am very sorry, but I think your boss would mentally roll his eyes. not that I agree...but you asked.

Would it help if you could vacuum them up in a powerful canister vac? they would be decimated in the suction process and you could get the eggs too, that is coming up, sorry again, but you gotta think ahead.

MAke sure you are having a protein bar or nutrition bar about an hour before this assignment. You could be getting low on blood sugar, and coupled with your nervousness over the spiders, it could be making it seem worse, more upsetting.

I wish I could be more positive, but this time I think you need truth.

since you are a home support worker, the conditions you describe should be reported, either to your boss, or the department of sanitation
