I'm sorry to hear about your ferret.
How would you deal with the loss? Number 7. Well, the same way you would deal with the loss of a beloved family member because that is what your ferret was. Just go over all of the good memories of how you spent time with him/her and all of the cute things he/she did.
I have lost many pets, so I know what I am talking about.
Doing any of 1 through 6 won't help anything or anyone and will only result with you getting into serious trouble. Then you'll have more to deal with than you want to.
I wish you well with dealing with this. It will be hard at first, but it gets better with time.

I'm so sorry. I have a pet ferret, too, so I know how awesome they are and how hard it is to lose them (or any pet, for that matter). My choice would be 7. My advice is to find a pet loss support group online. There are a lot of them, and there are some that are specific for ferret owners. I'm so sorry for your loss. Stick around people who love and support you, and understand what you're going through. Don't hang around with the people who say stuff like, "It was just an animal", those are the people to stay away from because you know that they are more than that. Oh, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I lost all four af my ferrets in one night. We had a small gas leak in the house. Not enough to us or dogs. Just the Fuzzies. Their little lungs are so tiny.
Any way, it's going to hurt for a while, It gets better in time.
Maybe this will help;
Just this side of heaven is a place called rainbow bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the rainbow bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor' those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by,

Do all of it in this order: 2,3 then 4 because you should NEVER drink and drive, then 5,1,4 again, 6, 4 again, and then 7 which would be hot freaky sex. Then 7 again, then 7 again. Oh and then #1 but this time scream about the hot sex.
Obviously I am kidding, and since you know me you know that.

You can always buy a new ferret and name him Scratch 2. Or you could get a different pet.
