Just a few examples...you can be sent to war at 18, but you can't have a beer before 21. (Not promoting beer-drinking...just a question!)

You have to have a license to drive a vehicle, & can get it when you are 16. But there is no license required to become a parent, & LOTS of peeps under 16 do that!! (Hell, lots of peeps OVER 16 aren't prepared or equipped for it!! LOL!)
Sometimes the "laws" just crack me up.

Thoughts...?

Peace...

Its bc laws can't really stop people from getting pregnant at an early age ya know? The same argument used to be said about why was it fair that young men were being sent to fight in Vietnam when they were only eighteen and back at home they couldnt even vote!!(voting age was 21 then) I understand youre point though...Im turning thirty next year and I still dont think I am anywhere close to being that parent I think I should be when that day comes....I have a lot of respect for all mothers and fathers out there....

I think its an interesting issue. A lot of the time, a few extremist people have gotten the laws made too extreme.

for example; in britain the drinking age is lower but you still get a lot less drunken car wrecks than here in dear america. kids don't see drinking as such a big deal. I think the high drinking age here is like a slingshot... make em wait a long time and then, when you finally give it to them...

on the driver's license versus young parents, the laws can actually control when a teen can drive. but there are already laws about teens and underage sex, and they kind of can't enforce that quite as easily, and some teens just don't listen to it.
