It depends on your skin tone and your hair and eye color. Light colors would be good just starting out.

When I went into 7th grade a friend of my dad's did my makeup for me one night and it was very nice. Subtle but nice. Light pink and blue on the eyes, a little mascara, a little pink on the cheeks and a lip gloss. You don't have to overdo it at all. Browns and creams are a nice contrast also. It shows you have something on but it's not real noticeable. You want it to enhance what you already have, not take away from your personality.

I would suggest staying away from dark colors. You want to compliment yourself and make minimal changes. The last thing you want to do is come in with a ton of makeup on and people no longer notice you but your makeup.

just remember not to over do it. and just because red black and blue are jour favoite colors den't mean thats what will look good on you. One good thing that you can do is go to any major deptment store (Macy's, Kohl's, Famous Barr, Dillard's) anywhere that has a makeup counter with a sales person. you can ask them to do your makeup for you and for them to explain it to you. They usualy don't charge any thing just ask you to buy a product. Which ca nbe as cheep as a tube of lip gloss. Then go to walmart and buy the same colors and tools the tech used to do it at home! just remember this:

Foundation:should blend in and not be noticeable, this is to even your skin tone out not make your face look tan. this is one of the trickiest parts of finding makeup. The best way to test foundation is to look at it in several lights without anything on top of it ( powder, blush ect) look at it in the bathroom, outside and if you can a light like at school. this will make sure that it looks the best

Blush: you no not want some thing that is shockingly noticable. you want it to give the apples of your cheeks ( the part that gets puffy when you smile) a hint of color as if you are... well, blushing!

Powder: you can get predded like in a compact or lood in a sort of jar ( much messsier ends up on your clothes!) Just be sure that it matches your foundation. this is just to control shine from natural oils and the foundation!

Eyeshadow: the tech can help you with this one because it can be worn so diffrently

eyeliner: is optional... but for school, i would recomend if you do wear it wear it only on the bottom or top not both it is a but too much for school and remember... DON"T RUB YOUR EYES!!! it will go everywhere!!!

Mascara: Black is your best bet. looks good on everyone. water proof is a must!! never know when you'll get some thing in your eye and your eyes start watering!!!

thats about all that i can think of at the moment!!

I would stick with naturals. Browns, greens. Reds and blues and pinks might a bit much for 7th grade. I am in 8th and still stick with them. I also use pastels.

mascara,if you want to wear eyeliner, you should use powders, not the actual liner, because it would be a little MUCH for 7th grade. blush. if you want to wear lipgloss, don`t wear red. too much for 7th.

stay with earth tones, but also experiment a little. this is the time to be creative, but not over board.
