Some people say a mirror, because the picture will be out of date - but how much do you change in an hour? You can have pictures developed in that time. Or you can use a digital camera (with a screen) or video camera connected to a TV, which can show what you look like *now* or at least a few seconds ago.
Any of these is a more accurate representation of you at the time the picture was taken than a mirror ever is, because a mirror image is flipped right to left.
And for whoever mentioned it - yes, a picture is flat and not 3D, but then so is a mirror.

A mirror image is a more accurate representation of ourselves for the following reasons.
1. All imaging systems used to form a picture have both chromatic and geometric aberrations. Aside from image inversion aberrations in a mirror image are much smaller than corresponding aberrations in a picture.
2. A mirror image contains information about the phase and amplitude of the light producing the image. A picture has time average information about the square of the amplitude (intensity) only.
A mirror image contains more information and fewer distortions and is thus a better representation of the original object.

Image is a funny word. The image in my mind of how I look is different than the image I am looking at in the mirror. I can usually find one or two pictures I like and to me that is the image I project to myself. The mirror image changes from moment to moment and I don't want to see that as I get up in the morning being an image of my self yet it is a true image.

When you take a picture of yourself as you are right now, you are looking at exactly the same thing you'd see in a mirror. However, look at that same picture a year later and look in the mirror, you will not see yourself exactly as you were the year before. When you look in the mirror, you see exactly who you are at the time, and everyday after. In pictures you only see how you are at the time but you don't stay the same. We age every year and our looks change even when we don't notice. Compare pictures and you will see that you have changed from year to year. However, neither one lies so what you see is what you get with either one.

I look nothing like the picture taken of me when I was a baby. A mirror is more up to date.

One to one mirror will produce a better image assuming the ideal optical quality. Lens will distort the image since it is very small.

A mirror except that it is reversed. A picture is not 3 dimensional.
