I had 400mbs of space on my hard drive i switch off when i switched on again it came up low disk space there was only 175mbs left.If i have got 300 mbs then go into a web site when i come out and check the hard drive there will only be about 150mbs left can anyone tell me why?

goto run, type " DEFRAG " an analyze an then defragment your files, will take up to 12 hrs xx if your lucky xx

Does the space come back? Many things use temporary files. A virus might cause your problem, or a filesystem problem that could be fixed with a chkdsk (assuming you're running Windows). It could also be a disk drive failing, but if your machine seems to work other than the space issue, I would suspect one of the others first.

Your windows swap file changes size dynamically with the work load of your computer. This file is typically hundreds of mb's in size and can range from 50mb to 1gb. This is the fluctuation you can see. It becomes more apparent when you are low on disk space but its nothing to worry about

Your Hard drive is getting ready to die.
I find it hard to believe that a hard drive that small still works.
Find a way to back up your work and either get a new HD
or a new Computer(Recommended)

hrad drive space has nothing to do with computer being switched off or on...

you need to read the HELP section of your computer or contact the company where you got it from...

have a look in your temp and tempory internet files + your cookies delete the contents then you will regain you lost space
one more histoy folder aswell

simply...quickly copy ur imp. data and buy a new hard..ur one is dieing now!
