I did. (I'm actually bi.) I told my mom when I was 15. She wasn't happy. She thought it was a phase all the way up until I married "the little Russian *****"! I was 30 then, and we'd been seeing each other for *ages*!
The way it came out to my friends wasn't planned. I was 17. This is going to date me. *laughs*. Several of us girls were watching MTV at one of our houses, and Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" video came on. It was 1991; it was *very* popular. I had an absolute flame for Sinead, though of course I just told all my friends she was a good singer and seemed like a cool person. My best friend, who was also closeted and had a boyfriend, thought the same way, because she blurted out, "I'd do her, man!"
Well, I couldn't leave her twisting in the wind. Especially not since I felt the same way! I said, "Hell yeah!" and high-fived her.
And that is how our friends found out about us being bi. The Gossip News Network took care of everyone else in our schools after that, of course. :-)

I would tell my friends immediately. I can't keep anything from them. But I probably wouldn't tell my parents. I've had four boyfriends including the one I'm with now, and they think the one I'm with now is my first >>. I simply wouldn't tell them because I don't like them getting involved in that aspect of my life. Also because I'm always afraid they'll curb my priveleges for any given reason.
I don't know exactly WHEN I'd tell my parents. Probably when I was older and getting into a serious relationship simply because marriage might be in the future and I certainly can't hide that from them.
For the record, I'm not gay, but I don't have anything against anyone who is.

Yes, because I felt like there was no reason to hide any more. It wasnt a big deal. People were shocked (and my dad was upset) at first but they all got over it. My dad now tells me gay jokes and introduces me to his gay co-workers. I came out at age 17.

20 years ago no, this day and age sure, besides I am gay and a very happy camper. To thine own self be true. At what age? When I was sure I wasn't just experimenting with my sexuality

yes. I wouldn't rub their faces in it if they didn't approve. I wouldn't
be ashamed either. I wouldn't if it never came up. I wouldn't
just blurt it out to make a statement. If enquiring minds wanted to
know ,I'd tell them.
If I were a kid, age 15 & under, I wouldn't tell anyone. Because
I think at that age you are tooooo young to know your own self.
Wait til you are of legal age.

Yes, because sooner or later they're gonna figure it out anyway. I did it at 22, but i think my brother knew before that already.
It sucks to pretend someone you're not.

I'm bi and I didn't tell anyone per se, I just started dating girls like crazy and everyone just kinda figured it out. I was in my early twenties at the time.

If I were gay, I wouldn't have to tell anyone. They surely could see that I was happy, wouldn't they?
