My last period was on July 26 and my conception date should have been on Aug 9 when should I start to take a pregnancy test to find out if I am pregnant.

You should definitely wait until your next period would be due, so around the 26th of August. The earliest a home pregnancy test can be taken is about four days before your next period, however to ensure no false negatives you should wait until the day or a few days after your next period is due. This is because it takes 6 to 12 days for a fertilized egg to travel to the uterus to attach to the lining and begin to develop. Then it takes one or two more days for the egg to start releasing the pregnancy hormone HCG that is detected in a pregnancy test. Since you believe conception was one week ago (the 9th) it is too early to test.

Well, it is better to take it the day your period is due. My last period was July 15, I was expecting it again this week, took the test today and got a faint line, I think I am pregnant! :-D

i was always told to take the test 19 days after the conception date. sperm can live for up to 5 days before dieing or fertilizing an egg then it can take about another 14 for the homone to be strong enough to read but i didnt show w/ my hormone till i was nearly 4 months preg.

by conception you mean implantation? if so you can get a positive test around the 20th however if you mean conception as on ovulation then you should test around the 26-28.

If your period is 28 days then count 28 days from July 26th if it is longer count that because usually if it's 31 or so you would not ovulate until your 16th or 17th day...

I know it is hard, when you want to be so bad...but you might as well wait until you miss your period, otherwise you might end up with a false answer. Good Luck!

They actually make a test now that tells you within 1 week of conceiving. I don't remember which one it is, but if you call a pharmacy they could tell you.
