I have been doing tests for about a year. I found that when i only used soap, more pimple outbreaks occured then when i was simply using toothpaste (on clear skin) with warm water and exfoilate.

it seems that soap makes me break out more. i think it depends on the person, because some say that they've been using saop since they were 13 and everythings been great. it must be what skin type you have.

Soap cleans your surface skin by removing bacteria. Pimples occur under the surface of your skin. No, soap is not overrated, it helps keep your skin clean, thus less bacteria, but it doesn't stop pimples from forming.
Instead of using toothpaste, try using baking soda. It's less expensive, doesn't contain extra ingredients and works just as well.

If you're using a bar of soap, then of course. It sits outside in the damp and grows mould and attracts dust in between washings. It's terrible to wash your skin with, unless you spend some time rinsing it off first.

With liquid soap, maybe it's the wrong kind of soap for your skin.

Toothpaste helps dry out pimples, so maybe that does help. Glad you found something that works for you, though.

Don't ever use soap on your face. Over washing your face make the glads work overtime and you still have greasy skin. What you should do is clean out the liver in order to help your skin. Try this 8oz of apple juice, quarter teaspoon of espon salt and do this twice a week to clean the liver. If the liver is cleaned and toxic removed from you system then you skin should clear up

You should never use soap on your face. It does not help with pimples. Also please dont use toothpaste or baking soda as neither of these are good for your skin. Use a facial wash for your skin type, instead. Also dont forget to tone and moisturize. Do these three steps twice a day.

Dove soap is gentle on your face. Also, to get rid of acne/pimples, use an acne treatment with benzyl peroxide. To prevent acne from coming back, drink plenty of water every day. Use a daily face wash with salicylic acid in it to unclog dirt and oil from pores, which cause pimples. Make sure to moisturize every day too, because acne medicine will otherwise dry your face out. If your face thinks that it is being dried out, it will produce even more oil, causing acne. Hope I helped.
