the patriots one 3 superbowls in 4 years recently, dallas won 3 in 5 years in the early to mid 90's, san francisco won 4 in 8 years in the 80's, the raider won a few in the 80's , broncos won a few superbowls in the late 90's.....but i think that the steelers has the greatest dynasty of any team in pro football. i say that because they won 4 superbowls in 6 years in probably the toughest era in The NFL. there was 5-6 dynasties during the years the steelers won their superbowls. they defeated oakland in 2 of 3 afc final games. they dethroned cowboys for 2 superbowl wins. they thumped a up and coming baltimore colts team twice. they shut out the vikings in their first superbowl. they beat probably 2 of the houston oilers best ever teams to years in a row in the afc final. the overwhelmed a good young rams team in their final superbowl win. i dont think no team has ever won as many championships with soo much great competions as the 70's steelers...anyone agree???

You have a good argument. The Steelers did play against tremendous competition to win their 4 SBs. I can remember watching them in awe, especially their defense (The Steel Curtain). What an imposing defense for such a long time. It's hard to take anything away from the other dynasties you mention, the Pats, the Niners, the Cowboys. I agree with you that not only did the Steelers triumph over superior competition, but they usually demolished them. By the way, I'm not a Steelers fan. I consider myself a Bengals in the AFC and Cowboys in the NFC fan, but I appreciate the great teams. The Steeler dynasty you refer to was a GREAT team.

The Cowboys are a true NFL dynasty.
There is no other team that has won so much in every decade. The Cowboys were one play away from being in the first Super Bowl (played Green Bay in the Ice Bowl).
The Cowboys have 20+ winning seasons and 8 Super Bowl appearances (more than any other team). They have 5 Super Bowl victories. They also played in some of the highest scoring games.
HOF inductees too numerous to mention.

I agree the Steelers had awesome team
but don't forget the Miami Dolphins
were a strong team just before Steelers started winning.
They appeared in 3 straight Super Bowls winning 2
(one completed a perfect season). If Czonka & Warfield
didn't defect to World Football League they may have won 2-3 more, and the Steelers would've had even stronger competition.

The Black & Gold has beaten the best & any & all comers. The '76 team was probably their best, especially the"D", but the injuries to Rocky & Franco were too much to overcome. The Steelers of the '70's were in another league. Like Steve Sabel said, "There are 27 teams in the NFL & then there's the Pittsburgh Steelers".

It is the Steelers hands down and add this point the year that the Steelers lost the AFC title game to Oakland they did not have Franco Harris and Rocky Blier.
A lot of people in Yahoo answers can not go past 1980. I don't know if it is age or their attention span.

Depends on your criteria. If it is the greatness of competition or the number of championships in the dynasty, I'd say you're right. If it is the sheer skill level of the dynasty, I'd go with the Niners of the late 80s, and that's not a diss to the Steelers, who I think were great. Either are fair criteria.

Definitely the Cowboys. Have won multiple superbowls in separate decades. No other team has done that. Yet anyway.

Depends on how you look at it for example:
Dallas has the most Super bowl games - 8
they are tied with SF for most wins - 5
Buffalo went to 4 consecutive super bowls
You can make an argument for alot of teams.
