I have been trying to get pregnant and I am not having any luck. My husband and I do not have any health insurance at this time, so it is difficult for us to see the doctor. I have been told by several friends and family that have told me to try clomide, but I was just wondering if I can get it over the counter or so I need to see a fertility specialist. Without any insurance it makes it very hard, so does anyone have any ideas that they would be willing to share with me, so that my husband and I can start our own family?

Clomid is not sold over the counter and is only for women who are not conceiving because they have irregular ovulation/periods. If you have any other infertility issues such as hormonal problems, blocked tubes, low sperm count, sperm/egg incompatibility etc. then this wont work anyway. You would really need to see an infertility specialist to have an evaluation to discover what the problem is. I would probably wait until you have insurance to get pregnant anyway, since the cost is now in excess of 10,000 or more to have a baby without complications. Sorry I couldn't give you any advice that you can use now. Have you tried using an ovulation predictor kit to make sure you are even ovulating. That might be a good place to start. Maybe you just aren't having sex at the right time. Good luck!

well to answer your question no you can not get clomid over the counter,,,,you need to see at least gyn doctor its about maybe 70 to 80 dollars a visit
I think or higher prices change its been a along time since i went so call and check and then if you do need clomid the doctor will prescribe you that's really when you don't ovulate so he needs to determine if you do or not ..,,,,,,,,so if you don't have insurance for now save some $$$$ at least 300 or less and get started until you get insurance still try to get insurance so if you need a infertility specialist later because some women just see the regular gyn and get help from them get pregnant if clomid is all you need.,,,,, I had no insurance so I saved a little just to go with gyn but I need specialist i will getting insurance soon.......

Clomid is a prescribed drug given in a fertility clinic by a certified Dr. If I were you I would worry about getting Medical Insurance first because it will be very expensive once you get pregnant, I am only 15 weeks pregnant and I have been at the doctor for about 8 times already so, think about that first.

You need to get insurance for the sake of having it. In Alabama, where i live, Clomid is not covered by insurance. You may not even need it ,it may be something else preventing you from conceiving. Anyways clomid is not that expensive. I have to buy it and I have good insurance.

Enjoy lots of sex for 5 days 12 days after your period.

Example....you're most fertile 14 days before the start of your next period. So right around there, pack in some extra time of sex.

In my opinion, it would be more safe if you had health insurance first. Before you get pregnant you would want to be sure your child is taken care of.

Courtney, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

First, wait until you have health insureance. Second, have your Dr work you up for a thyroid disorder or Ploycystic ovarian disease. Look them up on line and see if it sounds like you. Otherwise, its a whisper, telling you to wait until you have what you need.

Another idea if this is what you want is to take Robitussin. This helps thin the mucus to help the sperm swim more freely. This is what I was told by my infertility doc years ago.
