Have to agree with Jacob.
If you live on a horse farm, you should know the answer.

If you do have horses..
-Never put a recently gelded horse in with a mare, he CAN still get her pregnant for a month after being gelded. Sometimes longer.
-Stallions can get mares pregnant as young as 14 months.
-Mares can get pregnant at age two, but it is difficult for them. It's not recommended until at LEAST age three.
-A mare's gestation period is approx. 11 months. Sometimes they will foal a month earlier or a month later than the due date.
-Stallions should be in STRONG fencing that prevents him from getting out and mares from getting in. Yes.. Sometimes mares are the ones who go to the stallions instead of vice versa.

They mate just about the same as every other living species on this place we call earth. Except they perform the act of mating out of instinct, which is triggered by the olfactory nerves of the stud horse. His actions and body language will signal the mare, which in turn, will start her body to prepare for mating.

Are you for real?? You live on a horse farm and you don't know how horses mate? How do you mate? Oh, I get it, you think they rub noses and make cute little baby horses. And brown cows give chocolate milk, right? My favorite quote from Forest Gump, "Are you stupid or something?"

You don't need to be breeding horses if you don't even know how it's done. That can be a complicated process.

The stud mounts the mare from behind (doggy style only bigger). He inserts his erection into her vagina and copulates. Then 343 days later the mare has a foal.
