The Titanic “special edition” is
packed with bonus features.
Among them is a nine-minute
alternate ending that has never
been seen before. It involves the
elderly Rose (Gloria Stuart), shipwreck explorer Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton) and granddaughter Lizzy (Suzy Amis) and the diamond
necklace. It was the scripted ending, director James Cameron says, “but when we screened the film for ourselves, we didn’t like it.
It worked on paper and it even
worked as a scene, but you watch
it as part of the movie and it just
doesn’t work.”

People, when he said 'alternate ending' he meant the ending that they filmed for the movie, but didn't use. It's in the special features part of the DVD. He was not asking what YOU thought SHOULD have been the ending.
In the altenate ending, instead of Rose finding the necklace and dropping it in the water without anyone knowing she shows it to her graddaughter ,Lizzy, and the Titanic explorer ,Brock Lovett. She acts like she is going to drop it into the water but Brock stops her and begs her to please let him at least just hold it. (I've only seen the alternate ending once so I don't remember if she lets him hold it and then drops it, but I'm sure you get the idea.) Then, after that part old Rose dies like in the ending that everyone saw at the theatre.
If you really want to see the alternate ending and the movie is never there when you want to rent it, then I would suggest going to Walmart and buying it. It's only $20 for the DVD and it's a great movie to add to your collection.
I hope I've helped.

Aliens come from Mars and saves the Titantic. Then a robot from the future comes to fight the aliens. Jack dies saving the woman and the robot kills the woman. The robot blows up when it notices its gay and the ship sinks. Fortunetly there was an iceberg very close and thats why everyone thinks the Titantic struck the ice berg. Too bad for us they didn't put that scene in the movie.

The actor that plays the captain also played Theoden in Lord of the Rings. As the ship goes down he leads everyone in the Death cheer. Death!!!
Actually, I didn't know there was an alt ending.

I think Kate Winslet stays with her fiancee, causing the Captain
to be on the bridge in time to correct for the iceberg so they
don't hit it.
That's OK. Leo is still pushed overboard and drowns.
Just because.
