I define a counselor as a living memorial to the past suffering and future hope of his friends that calls others to face the damage of living in a fallen, often diabolical world. How about you?

For me, what is a counsellor?
A counsellor is a guide both of the inner an outer life of the people whome he/she engages with both in the past and future from the present's viewpoint with an aim to help flourishment in the world through the persons they engage with.
From the past they should wield awareness to yield greater healing and strength.
From the future they should wield confidence to yield greater hope and development.
I would even expand counsellor's roles beyond that of individuals-like Gandhi was a counsellor of the human race and the Indian culture as much as to individuals he met.
