What do you think the age should be to get a piercing with out parental concent?

As a Body Piercer, I'd say 16.

Caught by the spelling police. Its 'consent'. LOL.

The local laws say 14 around here, which I do not agree with. But 16, I find that most teens are mature enough to take care of their piercings and follow aftercare. ( I said most-not all) Personally, I waited untill I was 20, to get pierced.

We pierce with the same starter barbells for navels,surgical stainless steel or titanium.

Any part of the ear 16, belly buttons I'd go with 16 because they aren't really visible but any facial or below the belt piercings 18.I say 18 just because at 16 kids would go get it done then if their school has something against visible piercings it would become a big hub bub and who knows what, and with the tongue and lip you have to watch for infection and such and at 16 they may not be mature enough to think to do that.

That's a tough quesiton because some kids mature so much more quicker then others. I'd say 18 because some just don't have the forsight to realize how much a visible piercing may impact their life. Lets say your 16 and you get your eyebrow pierced with a group of friend because you think it's cool, in a couple of years you decide you want to go to med school and wish you had thought more about it cause now even when you take it out you'll have a scar. Just think before you do.
