I hate to do this (I despise sounding like Clinton's deposition) but it depends on what you mean by "accurate".
Do I believe that any particular spread automatically dictates the future? No, because the attempt to see a future changes what will happen. It's self-fulfilling prophesy mixed with good ole-fashioned pattern recognition: we will unknowingly view what occurs as being part of a predetermined pattern; and willfully ignore those things which don't fit. But, cognizant of that fact, a self-laid tarot spread can be useful as a meditation aid: a way to reexamine past experiences by looking for new patterns. So, is a spread/reading "accurate"? Yes, by the sheer fact that any sufficiently vague pattern can be applied to a sufficiently large sample and produce a result.
But I suspect your question is actually, "Can a tarot reader tell the future?". The basic Celtic Cross spread I run has 10 cards, 3 of which refer can to "the future". By the time I get to the first one that actually refers to the future, there are 73 cards left in the deck. By asking questions during the laying, a reader can pick from the dozen or so meanings for each card to steer a reading toward one "future" or another.

Yes in the sense that I believe that reading tarot cards is an exercise in examining your life. It is good to sit down and think - where have I been, what am I going through and what will I do in the future. Are the results of the cards cast in stone- no. I don't think any tarot reader would tell that your fate is sealed and this is the outcome. It is all about the path you are on - and you can change that.

I ABSOLUTELY believe in Tarot because I am a tarot reader and every reading I have ever done has been pretty darn accurate. It's not about what the cards themself say (because they can be on the generic side, but not to the extent that I think people here are implying) but what the tarot reader interprets them as. Any (competent and REAL) tarot reader's gift does not come from themselves but from a Higher Power. All that they hear and say to you they are getting from somewhere else (again, usually). From first-hand experience, it's like God is talking through you, and it is such a blessing to know that you have been given such a wonderful gift with which you can help others.
I hope that answers your question. :-)
Just know that there ARE a lot of scam artists out there who play the 'I'm psychic' game and charge a fortune for a reading. But most REAL psychics are very reasonably priced and some (including myself) offer their services free of charge. This is because, at least for me, I feel as though my ability to do this is a gift from God that I've been given in order to help other people. I think it's insulting, in a way, (to God) for me to turn someone away simply because they don't have the money if it's something they genuinely need. But, there are plenty of psychics who HAVE to charge because that's how they support themselves.
I don't claim to be a professional, but I have a regular full-time job very far removed from tarot reading and I don't NEED to charge people for my services, especially if they are really genuinely needed.
Anyway, I hope that answers your question. If you have any other specific questions I'd be happy to help. Feel free to message me!
Blessings and Light!

I think under the right circumstances, they are very accurate. I've done readings with my deck on people that have illustrated who they are quite nicely. The person who taught me, is even better with his deck.
I believe the tarot isn't necessarily a magickal thing, as it's more psychological somehow. I've never really seen a reading that predicted the future, but rather put things into plain English for the questioner. I do believe their is some intuition involved on the redaer's part, as they have to trust and believe in what their deck is trying to say.

I think tarot is a great meditative tool. Readings when they actively involve the client can help the client focus upon their problems and the solutions already contained within the problems. But tarot is a mirror: monkey looks in, philosopher does not look out.
The reading is only as accurate as the reader plus the client make it. If one or both are unfocused, the reading will likewise be unfocused. Look for the number of major arcana in the reading for the strength of the message.

Well the thing to keep in mind about the Tarot is that it's not a black or white application to life (most of the time); it can be translated many ways and seem to make sense to each individual because the themes are relevent to everyone.
Take the Devil card-- it means that one is tied to closely to material things (mostly) and how easy is it for everyone to agree with that? We are a very materialistic people and have been for centuries~!

Yes they are very accurate. I think what most people don't understand is that tarot does not tell you your future, they tell you the most likely outcome if you continue the coarse you are on, they can clarify and inform but NOTHING can tell you your future and nothing can decide your fate but YOU. But if you seek with an open mind and heart, if you seek in positivity, the tarot can give you a lot of information.

Do I believe in them? No. Do I believe that they an be a useful tool when trying to answer difficult inner questions? Yes. Tarot does not DECIDE your fate it helps you to understand the current path you are on, how you got there and where it MIGHT lead.

Any "real" Tarot reader will never tell you what is exactly going to happen - but will tell you what direction something may be heading.
To really believe in them - no........to study the art on them - yes.
