I put a wireless router in my house 2 months ago and now I realize my main computer (the one hooked up to the router) now has an internal IP addy of 192.168.1.1 It used to be the real IP of 25.58.1453 (or whatever it was). Problem is... I used to use Windows XP's Remote Desktop Connection to access my computer at home from work or school. I dont know how to do that now.

In your Router Web Administration tool (dependent on specific router, but try 192.168.0.1 -> your manual should tell you how to access it) there will be a section for Port Forwarding or Virtual Server.

You need to create a new one. Call it "Remote Desktop". Enter your computer's IP Address, Choose Both (TCP,UDP) for the Protocol Type, Enter the private port and public port as 3389, and make sure it's enabled. Then save it.

Your internal PC must also allow incoming remote desktop connections.

Then just access it the way you did before, by IP or hostname.

192.168.1.1 is the IP for all routers. You will need to go into the admin by going to http://192.168.1.1 and setting the public (as you call it real) IP to be accepted by the router when outside request comes in. It's pretty straight forward, not difficult.
