I have heard a lot of people say that they were happy having a lot sex and doing all these activities before they had kids, and now that they have had kids it seems like their life has stopped. Is it true that kids take away certain aspects in life? Is it true that kids ruin the sex life? Is it true that kids make things much more complex in relationship? If so, then why do so many people have kids?

If you wait a couple years after you are married to have kids then you have time to have all the sex you want...Even after you have kids doesn't mean it gets worse..It is all in how you handle it.........If children are wanted and planned then no they don't and shouldn't take away from anything

Kids can definately ruin it. Alot of parents end up putting the kids first above everything else and not taking time to continue to nurture their relationship. They often end up having a stranger for a partner when the kids grow up and become more independent.

Yes, having children changes everything, including your marriage. Now you don't have the time or energy to devote just to each other and having fun. Now you are tired (especially when the baby is small) and need extra rest. Your priorities change if you are to be a good parent. If both of you change and grow up then all will be fine. If one parent resents the change or is too immature to put the baby before his/her own needs then trouble will arise. Having a child should be the best and happiest experience of your life IF you are ready!

I don't think so. We have 2 children and still lead a full life in every way. You just have to learn to balance your time and MAKE time for each other. I think our children have only added to our relationship, not taken anything from it. In my opinion only selfish people would feel that kids ruin their lives and relationships. My husband and I love seeing the world through our babies eyes, watching them accomplish things and grow. We also love our quite times together with just he and I. We never take anything for granted.
