I went to the apple store, he connected my computer to a Mac computer (i have windows XP) and pressed the menu and centre button together until the apple symbol came on.

He then shown me all my songs and the name of my ipod on itunes..

Simply do this at home.

Or if that fails please restart your Computer with the ipod linked to it through the USB port, restart staight away as the ipod needs constant power when linked together.

That happened to my friend and I. You could call apple for help, or make sure 100% that you downloaded everything. It could be if you own a slow computer, but maybe not. You could restart your iPod, and then plug it in to the computer. See if the USB cord for it is clean...blow into it, and try again. That's all I can think of.

GOOD LUCK!!

frequently meaning its itunes. i'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling. the rationalization being because the ipod is connecting to the computer because its charging yet its no longer connecting to itunes. you may also attempt to reset the ipod by technique of preserving menu and middle, if its a click wheel. Then sleep/wake and residential button if its a contact, and turning it on and stale if its a shuffle
