Has anyone ever wondered if 2 peole can see the same color? I mean, i know what i think is red, maybe what you see is blue but you call it red. What i mean is, do you think it is possible that the color could be different but the name is the same?Like you see what i think is blue in your mind but you call it red?Think about it.

I've never heard it put that way, specifically, but I've often thought about something similar:
If it was possible to "see" something with your brain, but using someone else's eyes, or vice-versa, the light enters your eyes, but you "see" it as processed by another brain, would the colors be the same?

It's a very mind-twisting concept: how much of our perceptions and observations are because we are processing things as they truly are, and how much of it is implied by our minds?

If you take that a little deeper: What you see is light reflecting off of various objects. This light goes through the pupil to hit the rods and cones along the back of the eye, which in turn triggers little nerves to send signals to your brain. You brain then takes these signals and interprets them into the pictures we see. What if there aren't any colors, really? What if color is just a product of the mind? How do we know that what we see and feel is what's really there, instead of a bizarre conglomeration of stuff-your-brain-made up? Oooooooh. Ponder!

I've long believed that I can differentiate colors that the people around me can't. For example, I used to have this shirt that was a blue violet, but everyone else said it was purple. I enjoy this for the most part, because when I'm making a piece of jewelry, I know I can match up my colors better than anyone else.

Yes but not to that extreme red might be orange to the next person because my mom is color blind.

Probably if the other person is color blind. I know they don't see colors the same way most people do.
