I was a secretary for many years, and then decided to try an LPN program. I graduated in 2002 and am working in a Psych Hospital. It was a real challenge for me to quite my job and go to school, but I did it and made it through the class with flying colors. I was the oldest student in the class, and felt out of place at times, but I made a good choice. I do not wish to pursue the RN program, but if you are young enough, it surely is worth it.

My wife did that, she earned a BBA then went back to nursing school after being a stay home mom. Eventually getting and MSN. She works in neo-natal intensive care and loves it, she also teaches nursing at a local community college.
