I think anyone should be allowed to come into our country for a limited time as long as they pass criminal background checks. I think they should be allowed to become citizens as long as they learn English and are good, patriotic people.
Unfortunately, all you hear about now are the people who cross over and hate Americans, and everything our country stands for. It is going to cause real problems in the future, even worse than now.

It needs to implode. We need to secure our borders and turn back everyone who comes here illegally. We need to have a clear and simple way to come here legally that deos not allow anyone to dodge the rules. Open a new Ellis Island. El Paso, Texas is a border city. Let it be Ellis Island for the Mexicans. Key West, Florida could be Ellis Island for the Cubans. They should reopen Ellis Island itself for Europe so that the Europeans can register in the legal way. They closed down Alkatraz as a jail. Let Alkatraz be the Ellis Island for those who come form Asia. Canadians can just register at the border. They need to have foreigners show a passsport, their identification card, and register for a visa at the designated spot (those I previously mentioned), and the federal government should track those people for the allotted time that the foreigner s are allowed to be here. The federal government should follow through on its own responsibility by tracking those people itself, rather than leaving it up to the states. The federal government should catch the illegal aliens, not the states. There should be a wall on the mexican border thirty feet high and thirty feet wide, with razor wire on top as am attempt to keep illegals out. The coast guard shoudl patrol the water even more, and we should have many more border patrol officersa on both borders, especially th eMexican border, since that's where most of them are coming from. Guard the Florida coast as much as possible as well to keep illegal Cubans out. Every ilegal should be immediately sent back to their country on the first offense, and jailed for a few years on the second offense. We should let legal foreign students and workers be here for five years (asuming they are students and workers the whole time), then send them home. Tourists can be here for one month, then apply for two more months (or maybe even five more months), then go home. Foreign journalists can be here for a year, and file for a one year extention as often as necessary. If they want to stay here permanently, they should apply for residence or citizenship at the border, or on Ellis Island itself, or in Washington, D. C. Everything I said should be the case, and I wish they would emplement that policy and keep it in place.

I don't know what to think about it. I really don't mind people coming into our country and trying to grad their own American dream; but I think their should be a more efficient naturalization system to help people learn English and become citizens. But I do believe you can't just waltz in this country without any papers.

absolutaly nothing to worry about.
Think about it, if all the mexicans left then the cost for fruits and stuff would go way up, i doubt that many white people would be willing to do that for below minimum wage.
