Place a box of Baking Soda in the bathroom to absorb odors. You also may want to have your septic system checked. Something else may be amuk including a plumbing problem.

Is it like a damp musty smell? If so it could be coming from the walls around the bathtub or toilet which means a water leak or you have a seal that's not tight and it's allowing moisture to get in. and what you're smelling is what's growing behind the walls or floor, If this is the case, you'll need a professional to do something about it..Or try pouring baking soda and vinegar down all the drains and leave it to sit for awhile

Could you have a mold problem? The moisture in bathrooms makes a wonderul environment for mold.If you have a window in the bathroom open it up and get some fresh air or put a fan in there to dry it out and keep up the good work cleaning.

I know this is going to sound wierd. But wash the walls with vineger. It's a natrual oder neutralizer. It's more then likely that the oder is in the walls. When my husband and I first moved into our house, it had the terrible smell of cigarettes. The people who lived here before smoked. After washing the walls with vineger then going over again with pine-sol the smell disappeared. I hope it works for you.

If your bathroom has tiles look for any that are loose, water might be getting behind it causing it to mildew. Also look at the floor for to see if any water is getting trapped underneath.

Are the drains flowing properly, or are they slow a clog might be the reason for the smell. Use a drain opener and flush the drains with hot water.

If these all check out okay, wipe everything down with a bleach and water mix.

good luck

Could be mold, and unfortunately it might be behind the walls if there's a water leak. You can get a mold detection kit at a hardware store.

You could also try cleaning out the toilet tank.

It would help to know what it smells like. Could there be hidden mold? Is any wood rotting? If on a septic tank is it in good condition? Are you sure there is nothing hidden in vanities, etc that would be causing this.

Hope you find it soon. It must be very frustrating.
