My question is I have been on my period for 4 weeks. I have pcos so it is normal to go for 3 weeks. I am worried because it has been a month very heavy. And there was big clumps for 3 days.Ok I know the answer that most will say go to the doctor. I am in two hours the hospital because my dr could not make an appointment till next week. Has anyone herd of this happening or does anyone know what I should expect at the doctors? Help please any info.

as long as you are not filling more than a pad an hour you don't have to rush to the hospital. You do need to discuss some medical intervention with your doctor next week like maybe Metformin and/or more.
You can expect to have some blood work ordered so they can check in to see what your hormones are doing.

your doc is willing to wait until next week. That's a good sign. Don't worry about going to the hospital unless you develop severe pain and or a high fever. When you have your apt the doc will check your hormone levels and might test you for a few other things via blood test. I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to do an exam to feel all aound to see if there are any other reasons that might be making you bleed so heavily.

Hmm. I had a 3 week long period once, and the switched my birth control pills to a different brand, and I was tested for anemia after loosing so much extra blood.

I don't know much of anything about PCOS, but they'll probably prick your finger or draw a little blood for the anemia test.

Big clumps? IT sounds like endrometriosis or fibroid or both. Good for you for NOT ignoring this, I did (for years) and had to have 2 blood transfusions, and a hysterectomy &it turned into cancer. So do not miss that Dr. appt. even if gets better !!!
