If you have a stale smell, most likely it's mildew. Before you put your dirty clothes in the hamper, make sure it is not wet or damp. This can cause that foul, nasty odor. Hang it up to dry then throw in hamper. Try using bleach w/detergent for whites and alittle ammonia w/ detergent for colors. Top it off with Gain fabric softener.

Tide with bleach is an awsome soap, and it is color safe, many think it's not, but read it, it is. Normally Bleach takes care of the orders, so Tide with bleach is good for this.

Also toss in a downey ball with liquid softner in it. It helps.

and in the dryer, use 2 dryer sheets.

I have the same bad habit as you, and this is how I wash my cloths, and they come out fabulious.

Run through a cycle with just vinegar and baking soda - no clothes! This should remove the smell from the machine in general.

Gain detergent is very good and leaves a pleasant smell to laundry, then too if you use one of many fabric softeners your
laundry should smell wonderful. If you put your soiled laundry in
a hamper, try spraying it with fabrese.

Try washing using the extra wash cycle along with a good detergent and fabric softner that should get rid of any odors.

I've heard you can add baking soda to your wash to get the odors out. 1/2 C. to water with each load.

Try to wash as soon as possible. However, we are all busy at times .... Febreeze it every once in a while. Then use the Febreeze scent liquid detergent and the Febreee scent drying sheets. Very strong scent ... works very well!!

Go purchase Arm and Hammer's Washing Soda (or any other type of Washing Soda) and add it. It's harmless, and make your clothes cleaner... AND keeps things from getting musty.

1 cup of baking soda added to the wash water should take care of it.
