hate on metal so much it seems to be one of the most hated genres next to emo rap and country and I love metal and I got to ask what is everyones gripe about it

some metal is good.. some of it is horrible... metal is something that just has to be done right.. other wise, bad things happen, musically.....

I don't understand it either. There are so many talented musicians in the genre, and alot of sub-genres so that you have options. Rap, country, pop, and emo are horrible. I am so sick of hearing that music all the time. The people who hate metal are just lack appreciation for it. They do not see it as music. I think that alot of these newer "metal" bands are the ones making people hate metal.

Few other specific genres have lasted as long as metal.
I go through phases on it. 80s metal sucked (hair bands). Early-mid 90s metal ruled (go Metallica). Now it seems that the early/mid 00s metal is sucking again (I can't get through the unintelligible thrash lyrics).
As for haters - well, there are haters on everyting. I hate all kinds of stuff.

i dont particularly like metal, but thats just cuz i never really took time 2 find some and listen 2 it, i dont hate it
i think if im right about the type of music, that people dont like it cuz of the language and how thay scream all the time so u cant understand what theyre sayin

cuz it's crap, loud. No talent fun. But most people actually like it, not hate it. That I know of. Personal taste. We're allowed. No1 will ever all like the same music. What makes us unique is what most people say. Not gonna change their mind.

B/c people are lame and don't appreciate what they do. And they have no musical task, and they dont know talent when they hear it.
