The good neighborhoods are going to cost you more, but it depends on if you want a studio, 1, 2. or 3 bedroom. Some good sites to look at are www.forrent.com, www.craigslist.org, and www.rent.com. In Craigslist, you may be able to find smaller/private apartments owned by families. You can get $100 if you rent an apartment through rent.com.

Try Bothell, Lake Forest Park, Shoreline & Edmonds. Still very close to Seattle, and you'll pay between 600-900. Good luck!

West Seattle is the best area and you can find good value. Ballard is another great neighborhood witha little more action...
