I want to use the Thames Link connection as I have a heavy suitcase and I do not want to have to go up and down escalators.

Mark B gives the best advice - the Thameslink service doesn't go near Rickmansworth.

Regarding Marylebone station - that might be easier than changing at Baker St onto the Metropolitan line. Marylebone has a few steps but very long escalators. At the concourse everything is on a level. At Baker St you will need to go up an escalator then some very narrow stairs which is pretty awkward during peak travelling hours.

You have no choice, Best I can advise is train to London Bridge, Lift to Jubilee line and go to Baker Street, Level Cross Platform at Baker Street to Bakerloo Line, and go to Marlybone (not sure on access) to get a Chiltern train to Rickmansworth. Alternatively you can do it with a change at Baker Street onto the Metropolitain direct to Rickmansworth

Not Tube Free I know - but at worse you'll have one escalator and some steps
