What are your saddest songs, saddest movies? Do they have a common theme?

My songs are "House of Pain" by Faster Pussycat, "Cats in the Cradle" Ugly Kid Joe Version and "Child of Love" by White Lion.
My movie is "I am Sam"
All have to do with parents and kids. I couldn't imagine having my kids taken from me, or not being there for my kids.

"the winner takes it all" from abba, I always cry when it comes to the part "and someone down here loses someone dear" thats when I start to cry cause it reminds me of the love of my life...I lost him....he had a car accident and also "lady in red" from chris de burgh, the part with the "complete and utter love"
movie:
its not related to the subjects of the songs but the saddest movie for me is "the pianist"....it really shocked me to see the suffering of the jews in such an intense way..... a really touching movie, because it happened exactly how it was shown in the film
by the way cats in the cradle is a really touching song and also father and son

Hotel Rwanda is one of the saddest movies that i have ever seen. It is about a genocide going on in Rwanda. It was so much slaughtering. Then only white people could leave Rwanda.
