I reluctantly volunteered to coach my daughters little league cheerleading squad. Now I find out that we are going to a competition in september, and I have been given a rule book that we must do 2 chants and 1 cheer in a 3 minute limitation.

what is the difference in a chant and a cheer. could some cheers also be considered a chant?

Should we mesh them all with just claps in between or are they to be separate and distinct of one another.

please please help!

chants are repetitive (ie. crowd lines let's go team HHS and then repeat) and don't really have elements other than arm motions, while cheers are usually long and tell a bit of a story (ie. the storm is coming there's no way out. Hurricane all-stars, the best no doubt) and are usually more complex
