If its on the roof, it getting the odor from the Sewer vent- pipe coming out of the roof, if not on the roof, look for a Drain, sometimes a floor drain looses the water in the Trap do to heat and evaporation, -sewer gas will come up.

Move it away from the sewer!
You may have to clean the cooler if it has been used previously, They have a lot of moisture in them, and warm air blowing through them is a good breeding ground for all sorts of fungi and algae. See your instructions for recommended cleaning methods and intervals.

clean the inside of the cooler, it may be moldy or fungus that you are smelling. Not good for you!
