When the parents are involved with their children's education, the teachers and other personnel know that they will have to perform because someone is watching them. The children see that education is important to their parents and will have a greater tendency to continue and not drop out.

I feel that parents "should" be involved in their child's education. A parent teaches that child everything until they start school and when the "teachers" in the classroom start to teach the parent's child, it shouldnt stop there. It is important for the parent to know all the curriculum that will be taught and be involved to motivate and set good examples for their children and to help that child learn outside of the classroom as well. Persuasive reasons? Well parents should just do it without thinking about it. Educations is very important for our future children for careers, our country and our world as they will run it one day.

Reason #1 - The teacher can't do everything. Lessons taught need to be reinforced at home.
Reason #2 - Children tend to see the world through their parents eyes. If parents demonstrate that education is important to them, it will become important to their children.

Look at the Japanese Americans and their performance in higher education and standardized testing. They blow away just about every demographic. This is a direct result of their parents being heavily involved in their education.
